We are proud of our 100-strong workforce made up of three generations of the Richardson family, colleagues with 30 years’ service and employees of different nationalities- combining decades of experience in horticulture.
“Having worked for the business for 35 years I was recently presented with a long service award for my commitment to the company which was an extremely proud moment for me.
As the garden centre sales manager I’m responsible for new product development, formulating the annual sales and marketing plan, managing the retail sales team, setting the annual sales budget, putting together the annual production and purchasing plan, managing key accounts and putting together the weekly availability list with the latest deals for our garden centre buyers.”
“I work in the retail sales team for Johnson’s Garden Centre Sales, responsible for liaising with garden centre buyers, as well as sending out our weekly retail availability list.
More recently I’ve enjoyed working closely with our social media team to promote our latest deals of the day. You can catch my videos on Twitter @JohnsonsGCSales!
I have worked for Johnsons for 33 years and have held a number of positions in that time including, propagation manager, Roecliffe manager, transport supervisor, cultural supervisor and stock controller.
Aside from my role in the sales team, I’m the joint editor of our in-house newsletter, ensuring all staff members are kept up to date with the latest news from around the Group. It’s great to see all the great work my colleagues are doing and it gives them the opportunity to give their feedback on how we can improve as a business.
Outside of work I love pottering about the garden and like nothing better than a walk round a stately home and a top garden - made even better if I spot our plants! I also enjoy playing snooker and golf and I’m starting to put my toe into the world of cycling.”
At Johnsons of Whixley we set high standards, not only in the quality of our plants, but also in the service we provide to our customers
