Keeping it clean with ISO 14001
With so many keen anglers on our staff here we would pollute local streams and ponds at our peril - especially those we have created and stocked on most of our productions units.
In fact, thanks to the monitoring and other controls of our ISO Environment Management System, we found at a recent DEFRA sponsored workshop attended by John Richardson that the relatively modest quantities of slow release nitrates that we use in producing our plants are not considered relevant when it comes to new regulations relating to Nitrate Vulnerable Zones (NVZs).
As a matter of routine we will be mapping all of our land to show boreholes, streams, ponds etc., and keeping records of the total amount of organic and inorganic nitrogen applied to each area. In the meantime, if you find that you can't get hold of one of our team at any time it might just be because they've gone fishing!
