To make sure that our garden centre sales team can meet the demands of the garden centres that do business with us, we have special production facilities to provide us with the specimen plants for our sales to garden centres.
Among over 150 hectares in production at six specialist centres in Yorkshire, growing and selling 10+ million plants every year are increased production facilities for sales to garden centres with a range of home-grown species specially grown for British gardens and the British climate.
Blooming garden centre sales
Our garden plants and container plants are regularly pruned back to promote vigorous new growth: the more this is done in the early stages of the growing process, the better the eventual plant. The Whixley propagation unit extends to 4Ha with state of the art propagation facilities.
Most nurseries are cutting back on their propagation facilities. We however are still investing in ours since they are such an important part of our process. Controlling the beginning of the plant's life ensures we finish up with the hardy, healthy and bushy plants that make our garden centre sales bloom.
